l’ve got the site back up in a couple of days and if you follow this site regularly you’ll know I promised a fine and dandy look and feel of the site. This site has been serving the masses since 2007 (check out all the archives.). I know that recently the content has dwindled over the past year or so, Let’s just put it down to persomal problems but now I’ve changed the colour and done a few other things in the backgound it’s stull the same site as it always had been.!
Also the content has been suffering a hit as you will have noticed, nut with TopPicks v2 its gonna be back to 25+ a mnoth again amd I’ve got more sources. I’ve allowed folks to sign in again but this rime i’m vetting the comments at the moment. It was the spams that killed this site last go roumd and as you know if you’e been following forr at least a few days TopPicks was all about a bit of random banter on a morning. Something in there for everyone somewhere.
If somethimg starts you on a good surf or just catches your eye then feedback, howvever brief and I’ve seen all the spam shit and iy will be deleted before it’s published
above all any suggestioms welcome, as lomg as you’re not promotimg your own product ot trying to make money out of this it’s fine. This is a non-profit website with no ads for a reason – cos they’re spoiling the www and the vision that it was back at the take-off, of said www.
I literally provide this site as a service – I don’t even ask for donations but if you’ve got some cash to splash then please punt it over to Amnesty International…
I love you all loyal surfers, give me some ideas and the daily random link will omce more be on your interwebs xx
in Norrthern Japan, in the province of Nagano, snow stays up to four months at a stretch. The average winter temperature here is -5 ° C, sometimes dropping to -15 ° C. Living at such extreme temperatures are the Japanese macaques, also known as snow monkeys. Thankfully for them, hot water springs are close at hand where the monkeys spend most of day to fight the biting cold.”
Well like most people I started smoking and drinking before the legal ages to do that but I also managed to get tattooed in the UK when I was 17, a year before it was legal…luckily the lad knew what he was doing and made a decent job of my Marillion jester 🙂 Later on a few years someone introduced me to Jimmy Wong and he made some improvements for me and then we all went out and got roaring drunk iirc 😀
Seriously though there’s some very interesting facts about tattooing at today’s chosen site and well presented too..
30 colourful pics of Norway in the 60’s. Check out the old VW camper vans – them were the days..not that I was alive then anyway :p well I caught the tail end of the 60’s but couldn’t see out of my pram..
This one dedicated to you Bill, Johanne and family x
Who was it said that salt was bad for you? Our bodies would die without it. There’s lots of benefits and usages to salt, but make sure it’s not the usual shop-bought table salt! That has got not so good things in it..instead try using this stuff – the World’s healthiest salt..it’s mined deep in the Himalayas foothills and is around 250 million years old…
Some very eerie examples of natural weirdness – check out the one of the tree right on the edge of the cliff 🙂 lol – that’s what you call nature’s instinct for survival whether it’s animal or vegetation – or just a stubborn old bugger refusing to die,,,
well it’s taken me 20 hours up all nighter to do this but I think I’ve broken the back of it and we’re back in business – the server is serving again. I’m going to be enabling comments again for a trial period to see how good the anti-spam stuff copes.
Well this blog has been going since 2007 and has gone through 2 server migrations and 2 or 3 Movable Type upgrades and each one caused a problem or 2 in the doings of it. (Mostly user error or typos in crucial places) and that sort of thing. It’s all got too much – I’ve broke my website fatally now so it’s time for a total overhaul, preferably when I’m sober 🙂
This is just to day that in the coming weeks I’m going to be totally revamping the site so it will look different. So I won#’t be updating new posts until the new site is in place – so watch this space…and when it comes back it will be https://baanliam.com – it’s not working properly yet on that URL but will be when it’s sorted.
Also just to mention that back when I confirmed that Google was no longer classifying this site as an attack site and changed the colour of the site from red to green (it was a phishing link in a comment that somebody had posted I found in the end that was causing that status) a lot of people stopped coming here probably thinking it was dangerous and I was doing something underhand myself 🙁
Can I just say that this website is NOT an attack site of any kind and never has been – the new site will be properly administered 🙂
Anyway see you again in a few weeks when I have the time to get it together…
May your orbits never decay! as someone said to me once..
